OUR FEEDBACK ON THE 2024 MASTER PLAN

Stop Flight Path Impacts continues to work on behalf of the Gold Coast community to provide quality feedback for the Federal Government to consider on the Gold Coast Airport’s Master Plan that needs to be submitted every eight years.

The 20-year Airport Master Plan is a vital document which charts the growth – both positive and negative – for our city in coming decades.

Stakeholder feedback was sought and provided on the most recent Preliminary Draft Master Plan in mid-2024.

We provided a submission on behalf of the community covering a range of concerns around the following topics:

  • Increased passenger flight numbers

  • Runway 14 and Runway 32 length and extension

  • Aircraft noise, noise mapping and noise monitoring

  • Curfew and any future exemption requests

  • Planning around proposed light and heavy rail into the airport

  • Assessments around the proposed new commercial/retail precincts

  • Environmental issues

  • Proposed pathways for public submissions on the draft plan.

You can find our submission here.

The 2024 Master Plan was approved by the Federal Government in mid-2025. A copy can be found here.
